Online Services

The Web applications listed below can be used to access payroll-related online services.

AutoPay for Retiree Insurance*Retirees can enroll in the university’s AutoPay program via UT Direct (EID required) to schedule automatic payments of their monthly insurance premium directly from their bank account. Alternatively, a paper Automatic Payment Request Authorization Form can be submitted to Payroll Services to enroll in the program.
Electronic Earnings StatementsEmployees can view their paycheck earnings online for payments that were issued ending with the 11/7/2018 payday out of the Legacy system. For paychecks issued after 11/7/2018, please see Payslips below.
Employee/ Independent Contractor Classification Checklist (EICCC)This online tool can assist with determining whether an individual performing services for the university should be classified as an Independent Contractor (Contingent Worker) or as an employee of the university.
Fringe DownloadFor periods prior to September 2018, departmental personnel can use the Fringe Download tool to display or download fringe benefit detail information by Unit Code and Account. The information available is fringe employer actuals.
Fringe Download - PooledFor the September and October 2018 pay periods (when pooled rates were in effect in Legacy), departmental personnel can use the modified fringe download tool to get pooled fringe expenditure details by Unit Code and Account.
Glacier SystemNonresident aliens who work at the university are required to complete a Glacier profile to determine their tax status and eligibility for tax treaty and/or OASDI (Social Security) and Medicare tax exemption. New nonresident employees will be provided login instructions via a secure email message. For more information, please see the AFM Tax Services Glacier Web page.
Hourly Payroll SystemView-Only System effective 11/1/2018 for departmental personnel to see hourly payroll and timesheet data from electronic Time Reports in the HRS Timekeeping System. Access requires View status for the OV1 command via Electronic Office Management (EOM).
Human Resource Management System (HRMS)View-Only System effective 11/1/2018 for departmental personnel to see employee and affiliate positions, assignments, job details, and account funding that were in effect at the university prior to Workday.
MyTRSMyTRS is the online access portion of The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) website and is available to eligible members and annuitants. After establishing a user ID and password, members can plan for retirement, keep track of their personal accounts and receive communications from TRS. For new TRS members, please wait approximately sixty days from your date of employment to register.
Payment Elections*Employees can access Payment Elections in Workday to view and update personal payroll data including bank account information and paycheck distribution (e.g., paper check vs. direct deposit). To navigate to this in Workday, log in to the system and click Pay from the home page, then click Payment Elections.
Payslips*Employees can view their paycheck earnings online for payments issued in Workday after 11/7/2018. To navigate to this in Workday, log in to the system and click Pay from the home page, then click Payslips. For paycheck statements prior to 11/7/2018, please see Electronic Earnings Statements above.
Retirement ManagerEmployees can enroll, view, or make changes to their UTSaver Tax Sheltered Annuity (TSA), Traditional and Roth, or Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP) via The University of Texas System website. Tools are provided within UTRetirement Manager to assist with retirement planning based on personal financial goals. Salary DownloadFor payments made in Legacy through the 11/7/2018 pay date, departmental personnel can use the Salary Download tool to display or download salary expenditure detail information by Unit Code and Account.
Statement for Services Performed Outside the United StatesEmployees that are working for The University of Texas at Austin and are located outside The United States may sign and submit a Statement for Services Performed Outside the United States. This is used to ensure that U.S. income taxes are withheld and reported correctly, per IRS rules.
W-2 Forms - Legacy*For tax years 2017 and prior, employees can securely access their University of Texas at Austin W-2 Forms, which provide formatted versions to print. Use the left navigation menu to select prior years.
W-2 Forms - Workday*For tax years 2018 and after, employees can securely access their University of Texas at Austin W-2 Forms in Workday. To navigate to this in Workday, log in to the system and click Pay from the home page, then click Tax Documents.
What I OweAllows employees and retirees to securely make payments online via UT Direct for charges that are owed to the university. Payments can be made by credit card, electronic funds transfer (EFT), or electronic check (eCheck).
Where's My Check?This Web application in UT Direct displays payment information about other university non-payroll issued payments, including amount, check number, check date, funds availability date and date cashed.
Withholding Elections*View or modify your paycheck withholding elections used to calculate your federal, state and local taxes. This is equivalent to the Federal W-4 Form or state equivalent form for out-of-state workers. To navigate to this in Workday, log in to the system and click Pay from the home page, then click Withholding Elections.
Workday*In November 2018, UT Austin launched Workday, a new system for human resources and payroll that impacts faculty, staff, and student employees. This new system includes HR, Compensation, Performance Management, Recruiting, Payroll, and Time Tracking. All employees will use Workday for timekeeping and other self-service activities such as updating their personal information and claiming tax documents. Workday replaces legacy systems for HR and Payroll including the Human Resource Management System (HRMS).

* Access to these online services require two-factor authentication. Two-factor authentication provides an additional level of security for university applications.
